Annie Duke might not have won her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is still one of the most powerful poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "young crowd" of poker go crazy after a big win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mum" to her four children. She was born in NH and grew up in a family of poker players. If you do not believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught Annie how to compete in the game.
However, Annie Duke is not a small-potatoes girl and has earned her cut of challenging matches, including knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.
Winning over three million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to develop his abilities and become a force at the poker table.
You might just observe her at the Bellagio, you’ll see her on TV and you might just even compete against her in a web-based poker game, but don’t expect a simple win. Unless you’re a up and coming master, you’ll not defeat her. However, it would be fun to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
