Web poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no conniving or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier saying "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers are given five cards. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original ante, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the bet is the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a figure on par with the initial wager. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The bank pony’s up chips equal to your bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house

- 50-1 for a straight flush
