Web poker has become world famous recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many types on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier saying "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players are given 5 cards. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s value is akin to your original wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a figure in accordance with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The casino pays out money even with your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
